My faith journey has always been one of searching for a deeper spiritual life of solitude and communion with God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit. In 2016, I was introduced to 24/7 Prayer, an international, interdenominational prayer movement.
Through this introduction, I discovered The Order of the Mustard Seed, an international missional movement united by a shared Rule of Life and vow to be True to Christ, Kind to People and Take the Gospel to the Nations.
After much prayer and year of preparation, I took my vows in 2017 at the 24/7 Prayer International Gathering held in Birmingham UK to become a member of the Order of The Mustard Seed. Some might think this to be rules-oriented, rigid and restrictive. On the contrary, it’s a commitment of relationship, support, encouragement and accountability to a group of like-minded brothers and sisters from around the world.
How can we live in a world and culture that competes for our attention and devotion to God? How do we live a life focused on Jesus’ way, the great commandment and commission? How can we move from idealistic passion to real experiences within the community that are tangible and sustainable?
